Andrew Wyeth spent a great deal of time with the Olsons at their home in Cushing, Maine. The brother and sister, the home, and the surroundings inspired many of Wyeth's most evocative paintings. The artistic inspiration of the home is apparent. Here are a few images from our June visit.
I am a birding hobbyist who lives in southeastern Vermont. I write a weekly column on Friday for the Brattleboro Reformer on birds, birdwatching, and occasionally life. The weekly column is posted here, usually on Saturday. I also include recent sightings, bird trips, and whatever else might move me.

Many photos used in the weekly "Reformer" column are from my archives. Most were taken with a Sony DSC-H5 or Sony DSC-HX1. Distant subjects were digiscoped with Leica Televid 70.
Cropping, adjustments, and resizing is done with ACDSee 10 Photo Manager. I am learning Photoshop Elements 7.0

...interesting and beautiful photos.
Chris - genius pics!
Beautiful photos, reflecting an old-fashioned New England sobriety, a sparse, contemplative lifestyle which is beyond our reach.
