I did read that juvenile gulls and terns blown across the Atlantic will return to New England in subsequent years, thereby expanding our shorebird populations. That is a nice thought.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15795685792790247081noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27055376.post-78478597854175159062009-11-02T15:19:22.506-05:002009-11-02T15:19:22.506-05:00I love fall for the foliage and the odd birds that...I love fall for the foliage and the odd birds that show up! I've been out in the open ocean traveling at 16 knotts with a song bird chasing the boat. Can you imagine how desparite he must have been to keep chasing the boat and land on it with 60 people applauding as it landed? It turned out to be a Yellow Warbler.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27055376.post-21178170107760605712009-10-31T17:00:10.537-04:002009-10-31T17:00:10.537-04:00Hi Chris,

It is funny to see all birders in one place to see a rare bird. it happened to me last time when I went to see the least sandpiper. There were 12 cars in front of the lake, full of bird watchers to see it!!Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16336362938871245037noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27055376.post-56227902303241959772009-10-31T15:57:49.576-04:002009-10-31T15:57:49.576-04:00Wayward birds leave me sad as well.
