from the Backyard

A few miscellaneous images from the feeders.

Gray Catbird ...

Standoff on the sunflower feeders between 2 male Evening Grosbeaks ...

Feeding young ... mother Hairy Woodpecker on right. Note her brownish tint, probably "wood stains" from going in and out of the nest hole ...

Thanks for your comment on my Central Oregon post. I've gotten behind in my blog reading so it's been a treat to come back and visit yours again! Thanks for all the great writing and photos....I've spent little time birding the east and you make me want to get out there soon.
Thanks!

Hello Chris!
As they say: Long time no see!!
I have been quite busy too... I see you changed your banner! It is beautiful!
Also, your photography has improved tremendously and your birds are quite crisp too!
I have abandoned my blog a couple of days ago to open one with Blogger:

I am happy to hear from you again! I really enjoy your articles!

Chris - we always enjoy your photography so much... particularly like those 2 Evening Grosbeaks!

Hope it's been a bit cooler up there than down here.
