Academic background: History and Theology
Profession: Clergy
Status: Retired

Bird Watching: A hobby which my favorite companion got me interested in some 30 years ago. Initially I learned the birds with the help of a field guide. When I moved to Vermont, I met some excellent local birders whose experience and knowledge have been invaluable in improving my skills, and whose company in the field enriches my birding.

Photography: A new hobby - see "Photography" page.

Writer: First from necessity. Then in early '99, I filled in for a friend who was writing in the local newspaper. When he gave it up, I continued the weekly column. Since Fall, 2011, I have been writing a monthly column for "The Commons."

Traveler: Extensively throughout the United States. Internationally in Europe, Turkey, Israel, Egypt, India. Most recent travels: Texas, Trinidad, Quebec, Alberta, Belize, New Mexico

Other Activities:
Webmaster and Newsletter Editor for Mussoorie Gamin Vikas Samiti (Mussoorie Village Development Committee), an NGO in northern India working with villagers in the foothills of the Himalayas - www.mgvsnews.org
Exhibitor Chair and Webmaster for Newfane Heritage Festival (benefiting Newfane Congregational Church) - www.newfaneheritagefestival.org
Newsletter Editor for Southeastern Vermont Audubon Society - www.sevtaudubon.org

Public Speaking: I am available for public programs within a reasonable distance of my home. I most often do programs on birds and birding, and travel experiences.
