Although the rarity of Harlequins makes them more exciting than Wood Ducks, I also agree that Wood Ducks are flashier.

Woodies (and Cedar Waxwings) are what I show non-birders in field guides to get them excited; "No, these things ain't in Asia or the Amazon, they're in YOUR backyard.". Worth, at least, a raised eyebrow, every time.
